Pull the sleeve onto a clean, dry bare heel like a short sock, so the wedge sits under your heel and the top edge sits below your ankle bone. Pull your usual sock over it. Put your shoe on as normal. Take them off at the end of the day and rinse them under the tap; leave them to air dry.

You have had a good evening. Then you are at her door, she says come in, and you look down at your shoes. Everything you have been standing in for the last three hours is about to be left in her hallway.
So you stall. You keep them on a beat too long. You make a joke about your socks. You work out whether the hallway is dark enough. It is a small thing, and it has hijacked the end of every good evening you have had this year.

An insole lives in the shoe. That is the whole problem with it: the moment the shoe comes off, the insole is lying on somebody's floor, pointing at you.
This is built the other way round. The wedge is moulded into the base of a soft silicone sleeve that pulls onto your bare heel like a half-sock and grips it. Perforations through the wall let the skin breathe. Your sock goes over the top and your shoe goes on as normal.
So when the shoes come off, nothing has changed except that you are standing in socks. There is no bulge, no outline, and no object left behind on the floor.

If you already wear lifts, you know the height works. What you are buying here is the twenty minutes at the end of the evening that you currently spend managing. That is the whole proposition, and it is worth deciding on honestly.
The alternatives are a taller shoe, which commits you to one pair and is obvious from the side, or an insole, which is fine until it isn't. Neither survives a hallway. This does, because it is attached to you rather than to the shoe.

No. The sleeve ends below the ankle bone and an ordinary sock ends above it, so the silicone sits entirely inside the sock. It is visible if you take the sock off, in the same way anything is.
Any shoe with a closed heel. Your heel sits higher inside the shoe, so a shoe that is already tight at the top may feel snug — if you are between sizes, choose the smaller lift first.
It is a fair worry and it is worth answering straight: a raised heel keeps the calf and Achilles slightly shorter than flat ground while you are wearing it. We are not clinicians and we are not going to tell you it is impossible. What we would say is what physiotherapists say about heels generally — don't live in them, take them out when you are at home, and stretch. If you have an existing Achilles or foot problem, ask someone qualified before you buy.
The lift is the wedge under your heel; the total figure adds the sole of an average trainer. Most people start at the middle one. If you have never worn a lift before, start lower — the jump is more noticeable to walk on than it looks on paper.
It is soft silicone rather than a rigid insert, and the cup holds it still instead of letting it slide. That is what we can honestly claim. Whether a raised heel suits your feet for twelve hours is personal, which is why there are thirty days to find out.
