Will she be able to tell?
Not while your shoes are on, and not with your socks on either — the sleeve ends below the ankle bone and a normal sock ends above it. What we will not pretend is that the height is permanent. It is a heel lift, worn like one.
What if the evening ends at her place?
This is the reason it is built as a sleeve rather than an insole. It grips your heel, so it comes off with the shoe only if you take it off. In socks you are the same height you were all evening.
Which height should I pick?
If you have never worn a lift, take the lowest. Two to three inches sounds small on paper and is very noticeable underfoot for the first few days. You can go up later; going up on the first night is how people end up walking oddly.
Can I wear them all night?
They are soft silicone rather than a rigid wedge, and the heel cup stops them migrating around the shoe. That is what we can honestly say. A raised heel for six hours is still a raised heel — if your feet already complain, start with the lowest lift.
Doesn't wearing a heel lift shorten your Achilles?
